About Keith Morehead and Morehead Septic Services

State-licensed septic service, based in Clover, South Carolina

Keith Morehead owns Morehead Septic Services and does every job himself. He answers the phone, drives the truck, pumps the tank, and shows you the bottom of it before he leaves.

From Volkswagens to Septic Tanks

Keith spent 26 years working on Volkswagens, the last six years at one dealership. For much of that time he was the shop foreman, the person other technicians brought the problems they couldn’t solve. Finding the real cause of a failure, fixing it properly, and explaining it to the owner in plain terms was the job.

He works on septic systems the same way. He inspects the tank while he pumps it, checks the outlet baffle every time, and uses a camera when the cause isn’t visible from the lid. He is state-licensed to pump, repair, and install septic systems, and he performs real-estate septic inspections. He keeps his own equipment the way a mechanic would, even down to daily leak checks on his truck, so that he never leaves behind drips of waste on customer properties.

Before Keith maintained tanks professionally, he took care of his own tank himself.

A close friend’s brush with death changed how Keith thought about work and family.

In February 2024 he told his tax preparer, “I hope that this time next year I have my own company.” He opened Morehead Septic Services that June. That summer he flew to Texas and bought his pump truck sight unseen.

The First Customer

Keith’s first paying job was an emergency pump-out at night, in June 2024, with a family member riding along. The inlet lid was under the concrete of a sidewalk and the tank was plastic. He got to it and pumped it out that night.

He has taken calls like that ever since. Keith answers his own phone 24 hours a day, six days a week, and customers notice. One told him, “I’ve been trying to get somebody out here for weeks. You’re the first person to show up.”

Where Keith Works

Morehead Septic Services is based in Clover and works in York County, South Carolina. We are not in Morehead City, North Carolina, and we are not a Charlotte company.

Our address is 1011 State Rd S-46-564, Clover, SC 29710. The same property is also written as 1011 Kendrick Rd, Clover, SC 29710. State Road S-46-564 is the state’s number for Kendrick Road, so both addresses are the same place. Some maps show one version and some show the other. We have one location, not two.

  • Clover. Home base. Keith pumps tanks here at houses and in the mobile home parks, where every home has its own tank and getting to it is the hard part.
  • York. Routine pump-outs, inspections, and repairs in town and on the rural roads around it.
  • Lake Wylie. Calls here usually mean a long hose run around a big house or a pool.
  • Rock Hill. Pump-outs, inspections, and repairs.
  • The rest of York County. If you are in the county and on septic, call.

Licensed, Insured, and On Every Job

Keith is state-licensed in South Carolina (license OSWWP0079) and insured. The number is on the side of his truck.

What you can expect when you call:

  • Keith answers his own phone, starting at 6 in the morning.
  • He charges by the job, not by the hour, and his quotes never include hidden costs.
  • He works from the road or the driveway and stays off your lawn.
  • He pumps to the concrete and shows you the bottom of the tank.
  • He explains what he found, if you want to hear it.
  • He tells you when the problem is a plumber’s and not his.

See everything he does on the septic services page, or what a pump-out costs on the septic pumping cost page.

Why His Family’s Name Is on the Truck

The business is named for the family behind it. Keith wanted the people who call to know who is answering, and who is responsible for the work.

He put his own last name on it on purpose. A name on the side of a truck can’t be changed when a job goes badly, so every job has to be one he is willing to sign.

It is also meant to last. Keith built Morehead Septic Services to be a family business, one that supports his family now and that they can be proud of later.
